We successfully helped with this initiative by participating in public hearings, making protest signs to distribute, and contacting our legislators directly. In addition we distributed a petition to gather support for the “State Park Preservation Act” which was signed into law May, 2025. We were successful in shutting this down, for the time being, however we believe this will come up again, because of the money the land and real estate developers will make. Our Governor Desantis changed the board of the Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commissions from environmentalists, conservationists and scientists to all land and real estate developers in 2019 to make this easier to do.
