In 2025, Australian shark nets continued to kill numerous non-target marine animals, including dolphins, whales, and endangered turtles (Leatherback, Loggerhead, Green, Olive Ridley), alongside some target sharks, with data from NSW showing over 130 animals caught in just one season. These nets kill far more unintended aquatic wildlife than the intended sharks. These animals die slow painful deaths. WE partnered with conservationists in Australia for this initiative.
